Mills Teacher Scholar Leaders Network
The purpose of the group is to learn from the teacher leaders how we can better support the inquiry work and to develop the leadership capacity of teacher leaders at our partners school sites so that they may continue supporting their colleagues’ inquiries at their school sites. If our first meeting was any example of the kind of lively conversation among colleagues we can expect, this group will bring much insight to the Scholars work and how we can support it at the schools where our members teach. Participants in the first meeting shared that they appreciated the opportunity to think with colleagues from different schools. (As we all know, networking across sites is a rare occurrence for the classroom teacher.) The teacher scholars leaders role will rotate through the team of teacher scholar participants, with the goal of supporting a cadre of teacher leaders at each site to continue the Mills Teacher Scholars teacher-led inquiry beyond the 3-year partnership of the program. Mills Teacher Scholars will continue to bring together teacher elders form our “graduated sites” to continue the support of their important work.
