Last May participants from the Mills Teacher Scholars, Scholars Group presented their inquiry findings to an audience of fellow teachers, school and district leaders, and Mills School of Education Faculty.  Scholars shared posters detailing their work and then presented in them  thus sharing their new understandings. The event attracted upwards of 120 people. We believe this attendance clearly sends the message that we’re on our way to building an audience for the research work of classroom teachers.  That we had such a big crowd and double the number of applicants for this year’s Scholars group both suggest that the word in spreading about the power of inquiry-based teacher directed professional development.

The teacher research presented was insightful and greatly valued by attendees. For those of you who were unable to attend or simply want a reminder of the interesting ideas about student learning shared that evening, watch our video .
